Prior to working as a counsellor, I worked with a variety of people who had experienced emotional difficulties. I was drawn to counselling as a career because it helped me through a difficult time in my own life. In addition to my private practice work, I have provide counselling at HELP Counselling in Trowbridge and have previously provided counselling at a local Women’s Refuge.
In all of my past and present roles, I have seen people gaining a better sense of themselves and their circumstances. Most just needed someone to acknowledge them, to notice them, to give them some time, to listen to their concerns, and to just be with them in what were sometimes their darkest moments. I found it incredibly rewarding being a part of their journey. I truly believe people can make changes and live more positive lives – I know this because I’ve seen it.
I hold a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a registered member of BACP I work to their Ethical Principles and Code of Ethics.
